This is the perfect amp for an office or small apartment where you want a nice tube sound but don’t want the volume to shake the house down! With a classic pairing of the 6V6 output tube with 6J7 driver, both in pentode mode, this amp utilizes local negative feedback to keep things tight sounding.
Overall, the amp has a wonderful character typical of the single ended sound- the mid and high ranges are particularly clear and un-muddled. This style of amp is best with efficient speakers but we have run it on a pair of 82dB 3 ways and it sounded better than expected.
The controls are as simple as the design: a volume control and an input selector. The chassis is petite enough to sit on your desk or on a bookshelf without attracting too much attention.
